Welcome to my half-marathon sponsor page!

On April 4th, I will be taking on the Jerusalem Marathon to raise funds for Shalva! Shalva is a charity that supports and empowers individuals with disabilities and their families in Israel. I’m reaching out to ask for your support for the countless children and families whose lives Shalva touches every day.

I’ve always loved being outdoors— from hiking, park running, to cold-water swimming, I’m usually up for anything active. But this half marathon is 100% a new challenge for me. I’ve never taken on a run of this distance before, especially on hilly terrain, and it’s definitely pushing me out of my comfort zone. I am excited to take on this challenge as part of Team South Hampstead Shul for Shalva.
I hope you will resonate with my dedication to this cause and join me in making an impact!

About Shalva:
Shalva, the Israel Association for the Care and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities is dedicated to providing transformative care for individuals with disabilities, empowering their families, and enabling them to lead dignified lives.

They have been providing care to individuals with disabilities and their family members in the warmest and most loving environment for over 30 years. From infancy through adulthood, Shalva provides leading- edge therapies, inclusive educational frameworks, social and recreational activities, employment training, independent living, and respite programs regardless of religion, ethnic background or financial capability.

At the sudden onset of the war in Israel, Shalva stepped up in supporting as many people as they could as fast as they could. They have opened their doors as a National Crisis Response Center welcoming over 200 families from the South providing both the physical safety and emotional support the individuals so desperately need. Shalva is also homing 100 teenage girls and the staff, from a youth-at-risk program on a kibbutz in the south that miraculously were not at their center due to the holiday when the campus was completely destroyed. They are also providing day care programing for evacuated children. Shalva's emergency campaign along with their consistent care of 1000 children with disabilities inspires me.
